Introduction:
**********************************
Okay doke, it's been a while, but finally I got back into modeling B5 Clones.
Yeeha!
Probably nobody, least of all myself, expected that I would be building
*this* model after my long break from the B5 modeling scene, but there are a
number of (more or less reasonable) explanations.

Number one:
There has already been a good LightWave Version of the Minbari Cruiser
available, but not only was it wrong in many of the small details and
overall proportions, but it was also withdrawn from the public quite
a while ago by the author.

Number two:
Although there have been a few other models released since then,
none was LightWave native, and none of them was carefully enough textured
to simulate the organic "fishy" look of the ship in the show.

Concluding:
If I gotta paint a completely new texturemap-set for a ship, I might as
well texture my own model! And during that correct all the few small
errors that were still in the other models as good as I could...

Okay, now on to the technical part, more about the model as always further
down the file!

What should be in this archive:
**********************************

	- Minbari_Warcruiser.dxf	The ship itself
	- Minbari_Warcruiser_Beam.dxf	The Weapon Beam Object

	- MC_xxxx.iff The Texturemaps (you can find them in the LWO
					archive)

	- Minbari_Warcruiser.txt	This textfile

About the model:
**********************************

Some more detail on the creation now.

First of all thanks to Frank Ramsay, whose Truespace model was a godsent reference
for many areas for which my reference material alone didn't suffice, great work man!

The model itself took about 2 days to build, and I think the object is now as accurate
as it will probably ever get if no radically better resource material should pop up.
I also added a "laser" beam object, textured to simulate the look of the season 1
weapon fire of the ship (as seen in "And the Sky full of Stars").

My main interest in the ship was the texturing however, which took additional 2 days
for the first version, however a couple of weeks later I recreated several of the
maps from scratch since I wanted the colour markings to look more like those usually
seen on the show, which took a couple of hours. They are now pretty accurate and I
probably won't create any more detailed maps.

In order to keep the memory requirements of the object lower all textures had to be
reduced in their color depths and size drastically for the public release, my original
textures alone ate over far over 30 Megs of RAM and took forever to load! The quality
loss however is only minimal and not noticable if not rendered in extremely high
resolutions. Please don't ask me to send you those textures, 'cuase I won't, sorry.

Please don't modify the model, and in no case whatsoever publish a modified version
of the model into the public! If you have suggestions on how I could improve the
model please let me know and I will include them in the next update!
If you like the model and/or use it in any renderings or animations please drop me
a line and let me know what you did, I'd be happy to hear your opinions. :)
